10:33 PM "I don't want anybody else, when I think about you..." Concentrate, damn it, don't look at the audience; look over them. I have to keep thinking that. Sure, I'm playing a stripper behind a sheer screen, no need to feel embarrassed or anything. Oh, stop being so negative, it's just a play, a play where my credit is "Leather Girl." That's funny, oh well, at least I'm not taking anything off, I'm just dancing... and inspiring impure thoughts in every male in the audience. Oh boy, just keep dancing. At the end of the show, I go to the dressing room to get ready to go out. It's a pretty simple outfit: my tall black boots, the ones I bought in Rome; I loved Rome; and my black shift dress with the short slit up one thigh. As I'm lacing up the boots, I hear a voice behind me. "You were amazing!" I turn around "Liz! Oh my God, that was so scary." "I know, opening night, huh... don't worry, it was great." Liz is my best friend from the university, we're going dancing at the Roxy (and anywhere else) tonight to celebrate my first performance with this acting group... six short plays, I have a lead in two and I wrote one of them. "OK, I'm ready, let's go." 11:18 PM Theater just got out, what a mess. There are so many freaking people everywhere. I barely notice when someone taps my shoulder saying, "Excuse me, you're Tatiana, right?" When I turn around, I see three attractive guys, Spanish no doubt, or at least Spanish-looking. It takes me a second to realize whom I'm looking at: Kevin Richardson, A.J. McLean, and Howie Dorough, the one who called me. Now, I'm a fan of theirs, but I'm not obsessive about them... I went through that phase years ago with my Gavin Rossdale fantasy. But still, it's a pretty big deal when someone famous actually approaches you, and not vice-versa. Anyway, coming out of my shock, I answer: "Um, yeah... how did you know that?" "It was in the program." A.J. replied. My jaw nearly dropped to the floor. Oh dear Lord, please tell me these guys did not just see me do that show, I thought to myself. I don't mind the acting, in fact, I did that rather well; that little stand up comedy routine I did in the beginning, that was OK, too. But please tell me they did not stay for that last play; I really don't need them to have seen me do a striptease. "Oh, you... you were at the show?" "Yeah, you were great." "Thanks." I answered, feeling myself turn three shades of red. "I'm sorry, we never introduced ourselves." Kevin said. What, do they go down the line taking turns talking? That's a horrible thought to have, I didn't mean that. They didn't really need to introduce themselves, but they do anyway; and I introduce myself and my friend Liz. At this point, the Village "late shift" crowd is pushing us around, so we walk a little bit out of the way of the mass before we continue talking. "Are you girls doing anything right now?" "Well, we're on our way to a club now, if you want to join us..." this came from Liz... the one who's an ocean away from her boyfriend. "Actually, we were sort of headed to one ourselves." Howie answered. "Yeah? Where are you going?" I ask. "Well" Kevin began as they all looked at each other, slightly confused, "We're not really sure." A.J. finished. "Why don't you tell us about it on the way... we're walking, is that cool with you guys?" we ask them. "Sure" so off we go to the Roxy.
